Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026. Short version: only strictly necessary cookies for now.
| Category | Examples and sources | Purpose | Basis and duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Hosting, load balancer, and TLS security; session UI state (for example a dismissed banner, memory only) | Serving the site safely and reliably | Legitimate interests plus service delivery; sessions up to 12 months for security logs |
| Functional (not in use) | None | Storing preferences if features are added | Consent; active only after you agree |
| Analytics (not in use) | None | Understanding aggregate visits if the beta grows | Granular opt-in consent (ePrivacy and GDPR); off by default |
| Advertising and cross-site | Not used | We do not sell data and run no ad trackers | Not applicable |
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by the browser. There are first-party cookies (from wanory.com) and third-party cookies (from other providers, of which there are currently none). There are session cookies (deleted when the browser closes) and persistent ones (stored until expiry or deletion). Similar technologies such as localStorage or pixels follow the same rules.
2. Consent
- Strictly necessary cookies need no consent because the site needs them to function and stay secure.
- Non-essential cookies (functional, analytics, advertising) only start after you press Agree per category. Refusing never blocks access (no cookie wall).
- You may withdraw consent at any time through browser settings or (once available) a Manage Cookies button on the site. Withdrawal never affects earlier processing.
3. How to manage
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies. Safari: Settings, then Privacy. Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security. Edge: Settings, then Cookies.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track: we treat it as a refusal signal for non-essentials if that feature is added.
- Deleting cookies may bring back simple states (for example the banner). That is normal.
4. Changes and contact
If analytics or experiments are added as the open beta grows, the table above is updated and a granular consent banner ships before non-essential tracking runs. Questions: hello@wanory.com. Also see the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
